Broodstock, which are mature fish being used for breeding, are the foundation of any breeding program. We are pleased to be working with broodstock of exceptional quality.
When selecting a koi for broodstock, its value is determined by lineage. Japanese breeders have developed many incredible koi varieties, resulting from generations of careful work and dedication. We have acquired males for our broodstock strait from a few of these experienced breeders.
This website features many varieties of koi raised by Clifford's, although only some of our breeding pairs are shown. We believe the high quality of our selected broodstock is evident, and is a good indication of the quality of their offspring. The majority of our broodstock has been purchased through brokers in the US, and come from reputable Japanese breeding programs. The koi offered by Clifford's will be 3-12" at the time of purchase.
