Asarum splendens |
Asarum splendens has foliage that resembles cyclamen or begonias. It's a hardy and low-growing evergreen, perfect for use as a woodland groundcover. The foliage is a striking blanket of spade-shaped, overlapping green leaves covered with splotches of silver. Extremely unique maroon, cup-shaped flowers emerge close to the ground in late spring, but may be hidden from view under the broad foliage. Shimmery and exotic, asarum is a great way to brighten up the shade garden.
